It is the highest hut in the Alps and it is something that must absolutely be seen at least once. The uphill is technically easy, but due to the fact that it takes place in a high mountain environment you need to be well trained. Besides being a wonderful destination for its own sake, it is also a great training for those who want to climb the Mont Blanc.

MEETING POINT

STAFFAL ( GRESSONEY-LA-TRINITÉ) OR AT PUNTA INDREN

 

1° DAY

After a quick check of the material, we take the cable car up to Indren tip. At this moment, in about 1.30/2 hours we reach the Mantova hut immersed in a beautiful high mountain environment.

 

2° DAY

It starts with an early wake up and a hearty breakfast to be ready to start the day. The entire uphill is on a wonderful glacier with moderate slopes and with a view of the other 4000 of the massif. Then there is a tough short final sprint to reach Punta Gnifetti at 4554m, where there is the Regina Margherita hut. Here you can admire magnificent panoramas and enjoy the comfort of the hut to stop for a refreshment before going down by the same route.
