It is the only 4000 entirely in the Italian territory and it has the great merit of being within reach to many. To reach it by the normal way you can spleep at the Chabod hut or at the Vittorio Emanuele II hut. This depends on the Guide’s decision according to the mountain conditions: in both cases the technical difficulty is low and you will surely have an unforgettable day!

MEETING POINT

PONT VALSAVARENCHE, PRAVIEUX OR AT THE HUT

 

1° DAY

After a quick check of the material, the uphill towards the hut starts immersed in a wonderful mid-mountain environment in the presence of the most beautiful peaks of the Gran Paradiso massif. Whether you go up towards the Chabod hut or up towards the Vittorio Emanuele II hut the uphill does not exceed 900 meters and the ascent time is around 2.30 hours.

 

2° DAY

It starts with an early wake up and a hearty breakfast to be ready to start the day. The first part of the uphill is on moraines and stony ground, and then on the glacier. From here you will proceed tied together with the Guide on moderate slopes almost to the top, where an easy passage on rocks allows you to reach the top. At this point you can admire unique view, from the pianura padana to the others 4000 of the Alpine range. The descent follows the same route as the uphill.
