The climb to the eastern Lyskamm by the ridge of Naso and the Sella ridge is certainly an old-style route. Infact it is long, isolated and little frequented. It give us satisfaction because few people do this route to reach the Lyskamm peak.

MEETING POINT

STAFFAL (GRESSONEY-LA-TRINITÉ)

 

1° DAY

After a quick check of the material, we’ll walk awards the bivouac Mamo passing the alpe Cortlys and then moraine that leads us to south ridge of the Naso del Lyskamm. When we’ll arrive to the begin of the ridge, the real climb starts and we’ll reach the Mamo’s hut. In this nice and comfortable bivouac we’ll sleep.

 

2° DAY

Early wake up and after an hearty breakfast we’ll be ready to go. We’ll continue to climb the south ridge. Here the ground is mostly crumbly rocky and some passages are difficult but other easier. Then, the rocky ridge ends and a slope of snow leads us to a snowy ridge. Here, we’ll be at the beginning of the Sella’s ridge to the eastern Lyskammand and we’ll climb on rocky-mixed ground until the top. The descent takes place to the normal route of eastern Lyskamm towards the Lys pass. Then, we’ll go towards the Mantova hut and then until the Punta Indren where we’ll take the cable car to Staffal.
