skiing a 4000 m peak: simply fantastic

The Gran Paradiso is the only 4000 entirely in Italian territory and in spring is a wonderful ski touring trip. To reach it by the normal route we can sleep at the Chabod hut or at the Vittorio Emanuele II hut. The Guide will decide the itinerary based on the mountain conditions. In both cases the technical difficulty is low and certainly you will have an unforgettable day!

MEETING POINT

1° DAY

After a quick check of the material, we’ll start the climb to the hut immersed in an amazing mid-mountain environment in front of the majestic peaks of the Gran Paradiso.
The uphill does not exceed 900 meters both for the Chabod route and for the Vittorio Emanuele II one.

 

2° DAY

Early wake up and after an hearty breakfast we’ll be ready to go. We’ll put on the skis to start the climb on snow and then on the glacier. Just before the top, we’ll take of the skis and we’ll do a short passage of climbing that lead to the Madonna on the summit. Here, we’ll can admire unique landscape, from the pianura padana to the others 4000 of the alpine region. The descent will take place on the same route.
