Alpine World was founded in the Aosta Valley to offer experiences that allow people to truly experience and appreciate the diverse nuances of the mountain environment—not only through mountaineering but also through the region’s culture and traditions.
The Aosta Valley lies at the heart of these offerings, serving as an ideal starting point for experiencing the mountains according to this philosophy; however, the project also extends to the discovery of other select locations, both in Italy and abroad.
The concept is to experience the mountains in all their forms: hiking, climbing, skiing, observing, and learning. It is not just about reaching a summit or completing a route, but about experiencing and savoring the journey itself, with all its nuances.
For this reason, many experiences are designed to span several days. Having more time allows the program to be adapted to the weather, mountain conditions, and the participants’ specific needs, without compromising the value of the experience.
Aosta is the natural starting point for this project: within about an hour’s drive, one can reach the region’s main valleys and some of the most important massifs in the Western Alps—from Mont Blanc to Gran Paradiso, and from the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa.
Alpine World is managed and coordinated by Luigi Zignone, an IFMGA-certified Mountain Guide and National Instructor for Italian Mountain Guides. Activities may be led by Luigi himself or by trusted IFMGA Mountain Guides, selected for their technical expertise, professional reliability, and shared approach to the mountains.
Luigi has been working as a Mountain Guide since 2018. He has a particular interest in training, snow science, and risk management in winter environments.
Since 2019, he has been an AINEVA trainer and has conducted snowpack assessments for the Aosta Valley Region’s Avalanche Office. His strong interest in training led him to qualify as a National Instructor for Italian Mountain Guides—a role he now combines with his work as a mountain guide.
